3 Easy All Natural Ways To Whiten Your Teeth

by Charlotte Beck

Many people long for a whiter, brighter smile. However, getting your teeth professionally whitened at the dentist can sometimes be very expensive. While there are numerous over-the-counter whitening treatments available, many of them contain harsh chemicals.

Fortunately, there are a a wide variety of all natural methods that you can utilize in order to whiten your teeth. One added advantage of these particular natural whitening techniques is that they are all extremely affordable:

1. Drink From A Straw

Drinking from a straw is by far one of the easiest things that you can do to help naturally whiten your teeth. The reason for this is that sipping through a straw creates a barrier between your teeth and whatever beverages you choose to drink such as soda, juice, wine, or coffee. This will then help to prevent stains from forming on your teeth.

2. Hydrogen Peroxide And Baking Soda

If you have always longed for some pearly whites, then you should be sure to try hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Both of these items work great at whitening teeth but when you combine them together they are even more powerful and effective.

Whitening your teeth with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide is quick and easy. Just mix approximately 3 teaspoons of baking soda with 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide together until they form a paste.

In order to improve the flavor of this paste, you may want to add 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract. You can also just add a pea sized amount of your regular toothpaste to this mixture to help it taste better. Use your toothbrush to apply this mixture to your teeth with small, circular motions.

You should leave this hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste on your teeth for about 2 minutes. It's very important to rinse thoroughly with water afterwards in order to ensure that there aren't any traces of hydrogen peroxide that still remain on your teeth.

3. Strawberries

Would you like an easy as well as delicious way to whiten your teeth?  All you need to do is mash up a few strawberries and gently rub them all over your teeth for a few minutes. The malic acid that strawberries contain will act as an all natural teeth whitener.

Having to deal with discolored or stained teeth can often be quite stressful and upsetting. Luckily, trying even just one or two of these tips should help you see a noticeable improvement in the whiteness of your teeth.  For more help, contact a complete dental care professional to learn more.

About Me

Learning to Manage Your Dental Problems

As a homeschool parent and independent contractor, I don't always have time to practice good dental care. I often find myself in a rush just to meet my daily tasks and goals. My lack of good dental care eventually caught up with me. After experiencing severe pain in my back tooth, I made an appointment with my dentist. My dentist found a large hole in the center of the tooth. Root canal treatment couldn't save the tooth, so my dentist extracted it. I learned a very painful and valuable lesson that day. No matter how hectic my life is, I should still make time to brush and floss my teeth properly. I'm here to help you and other people avoid painful dental problems with my blog. I offer tips on how to keep your teeth clean and how to spot dental problems before they get out of control. Good luck.
